It obviously would stop wrap (unless you twisted the shackle arrangement or what it's mounted to), question is would it also affect flex too much... well, if you run through the different flex scenarios you might want, it doesn't seem to me that it would be bad at all.
Someone try it and get back to us.
Note this: "The forces generated by this traction bar are massive, and the cross member WILL need that additional support to keep it from bending. Trust me, about five stop/go tests on the pavement tweaked the original one beyond usage! They aren't shown here, but put 'em in!"
I reckon that's definite.

This is not legal advice.
It would work sweet but it would be copping a canning and wouldn`t last as long cause it`s short and the stress would move through hole set up.

Yeah it would have to be very strong. However the fact that it is in the centre means it doesn't have to deal with that much movement - it's the ends of the axles that move a lot.
What you mount it TO has to be very strong as well... hmm...
