Dual cab gen 2 or gen 3?? Vote away

Post by Elmo »

Well my sister in law has just thrown a spanner in the works and thoroughly confused the hell out of me. Curious to see if people like the boxy old girls or the fancy pants new ones.

I have a 1986 Gen 2 dual cab hilux and a 1992 Gen 3 dual cab hilux sitting side by side in the driveway with the gen 2 being the project and the gen 3 the daily driver.

However my sister in law just requested to purchase the Gen 2, but i like the boxy old shape, however there is no denying the comparable luxury of the newer shape for the wife and kids.

So whats everyones thoughts?? What is your favourite?? A clean, restored but capable twin locked Gen 2 or Gen 3??? Either way the spec sheet will be absolutely identical, i'm only building one truck, purely interested in thoughts on which body shape

Reply or vote, either way, im confused and im curious whats the favourite out there
