comp rover and events

Post by ranover »

hey all

ive always wanted to do a rangie comp truck and compete more for fun so im tossing up if i should make a devoted comp truck/play truck unreg but need to figure out what events are around that i would make it for or create a new event.

main reason for going unreg is it would only be driven when we compete or go play so rego would be a waste. also i can do more fun stuff to it.

im looking at 2 at the moment
one is a 2 door lifted 2 body and suspension, 302 windsor, arb front and rear bar, twin shocks up front. - approx 1k plus a complete 4 door
the other is an ex comp truck with locked f and R, roll cage, 33s, lifted but no engine - 4k
acually there is anouther with gu diffs under it and roll cage - 3k

what would be a good start for a comp truck and what are some good events around that it would be suited too

also would you need CCDA license?

cheers in advance

You can compete in my comp in an unregistered class and I am pretty sure Tough tracks have an unrego class as well. we both do 3 rounds a year. Theres 6 comps a year in the south east.. in an unregistered truck.

ended up going with the 302 with the extra 4 door. just organising where to put it our yard or at my place just have to hide it lol. going to get it registered first then get out and play and upgrade as i go but wount take long. already plan on putting mostly ashcroft through it, custom bar work, duel fuel it (if it doesnt have it already) and roll cage either exo or internal.

dont want to make it a winch truck more a toy but strong competitor in tough tracks, Rock it and comps like that once i get my skills up.

anyway will get pics up soon.
