yeah well Gigglepin by all rights should have not got top 5 going by the other rigs they were competing against I dont think there was to much bitching comming from the yanks, hell it was John Currie that got them going again earlier in the week when the spun a diff bearing on a custom ARB 9. Ruffstuff also providing alot of help...it was amazing they made the start of EMC and even more so they crossed in first. Seems like anywhere, there are just the one or two duches that want to make out it was the tyres that did it etc.....but such is life.
Im not saying the deserve the win, and I dont think they would have without stickies, but to say they were getting murdered otherwise seems like a bit of a stretch.
did anyone watch the EMC race and see the US guys winch...

Is Ben the first Aussie over the line? Either way its a huge effort to finish that race. I thought it kinda odd that after only 3 guys finish, they start to bring in the remote cameras etc. I know it was getting later in the day, but WTF? if you have that many starters and still alot racing, why they hell would you just have a camera at the finish line and show high lights of the week until someone crosses???......They want it to be the biggest best off road race in the world, this isnt helping the cause IMO
Was the best week ever...
Both 2nd place motorsport and koala punch teams had transmissions replaced in the first few days..
The guys at gigglepin were awesome to be around a top bunch of people .. Wayne we were flat out Thursday night but congrats on being the first car across the line in the EMC..
Ben did get 5th.. The car alittle sore as it Ben and Scott after noise diving at about 40mile an hour..
Nick and Mal had issues with fuel pump fuses blowing but we did a quick harness mod in the pits and got it going.. The second lap took us 6hrs before this we were looking at a top 10.. But we will take top 20 and automatic entry into next yrs KOH..
Criddy... We're awesome effort.. Great hanging out all week , glad to see the car held together in the biggest race ever.. A few little issues during the race and while pre running but the car is still in 1 peice and you did us all proud.
I would like to thank everyone who helped us out during the week awesome effort.. We had an unexpected guest on Thursday night but well welcome.. Garth Hannaford and his wife dropped in and we put him straight to work.. Sorry Debbie

Omg the hammer was crazy
For lcq/qualifying there was a 170+ cars to start. We qualified 81st with untuned shocks.
The first lap we where killing it, getting up to 11th place, on the second lap, we where still holding strong until we blow a hydro line. So i walked to the next remote pit. The walk took me over to mountains I would say the was was close to 10kms each way. We fixed the line and was back on track. Just before finishing the second lap we got two flat tires so we came in to the pit fixed them and we where back bombing along again. Driving a few more miles we lost one more tires of the front left. So Steve jumped out to grab the air line to pump up the wheel. Steve open the tool bag to find there is no tools or spares as there is a hole in the bad. The only thing that was in there was the air line, lucky for us.the next big thing was outer limits. As we where drop back down Jessie combs was trail plugged, we tried to move her but she aw jammed. As we drove a crazy ass live to get around. Five more teams got stuck but no other there would drive our line. We finished outers, as we where just about to get of the lake bed when the fuel pump died. The spare pump was in the tool bag with the hole in it. So we waited a hour and a half until someone had a spare. Now back on track as we got up to the of aftershock we have been told to head back to camp as we have time out, the best part was the truck is still running.
Massive thanks too every for helping out

Ben car was crazy... The fabrication in that thing is nuts.. Crazy loud too..
I was speaking to mr and miss penall on the lake bed and they were so nice.. They stuck around in the pits all day cheering on not just Ben but all the other Aussies as well.
Preperations have already started for 2014s trip to KOH with Pete Anthunac also will be competing in his new ultra 4 buggy he is currently building..

I barely fitted into that car - I think it's designed for skinny hot girls - I was ok with that though! Also there was nowhere to hang on and my shoulder was heading out the window so yeah, I had my hands tucked into my harnesses pretty good. I've ridden with enough people to know you need to be smart because at some time one of these hot lap rides is going to run out of talent!
Anyway it was awesome to go hang with different types of wheelers - I had a great time in Arkansas. Hopefully I can convince them to come visit me in California (well at least the hot southern girls!)
