Help on FJ40 holden 308 conversion
I'm having some issues trying to sort out this Holden 308 conversion into my FJ40, I've looked for any information or even a guide and haven't come across one. I've brought a FJ40 with 308 in it and it's partially finished but however I'm unsure what I need to do at this stage. Could anyone please shed some light on this.
just bought dellow bell housing for 308.

Re: HELP ON FJ40 HOLDEN 308 CONVERSION
what info do you need?
your question is seriously broad ie fj40's from 196*- 1984 and a few different gearboxes makes every conversion a little different
you have a dellow adapter but what of your engine or gearbox model or mount system.
you can have an engine plate or engine mounts
you can have the origional gearbox mounts or a transfer plate
do you have 3 speed 4 speed or 5 speed.
there is many different ways of doing it some move the engine back into the firewall, others sit it forward.
you bought the belhousing but what of clutch, flywheel fork, slave, master... etc.
there is no real guide. you have to have a rough idea what you are doing of you will spend alot more time than nessesary and/or spend alot of money getting people to fix it.

Re: HELP ON FJ40 HOLDEN 308 CONVERSION
Hello all,
The poster is a mate of mine, I see his truck a few times a week and he wants some information on this. So I'll explain everything.
He bought it from someone else who sold it as a project. It comes with a 308 + manual box and bellhousing, so I don't know what type
of gearbox or bellhousing at this stage, we have another bellhousing here for this conversion. I will find out what box it's running when
we take the cab off for paint.
Landcruiser BJ40 chassis(1972 if I remember correctly.) The reason why he is asking is that when we put the cab back on the correct
mounts (no body lift at all) the motor and the cabs are touching each others, how do we go with this? Cut the firewall or 2 inch body
lift will clear it?
Also with the issue of the gearbox bellhousing, its missing the bottom cover of the bellhousing... What can we do about this??
Thank you
CC
