Rear quater chop pics

Post by olgus69 »

HI. I thought i;d post up a couple of pics of the rear chop i did over the past couple of days. I have to admit i was pretty nervous hacking into my GQ considering its quite a neat vehicle.Anyway the conditions for the job were far from perfect as we were experiencing cyclonic weather from cyclone Rusty up here in the NW region of WA. No garage and no carport,,, your probably why not wait. Well for starters im pretty impatient and to top it off I purchased the bar over 8 months back and i havent had an RnR for over 12 months.Anywho the job came up very neat thanks to mudrhino's information and all thats left is a couple of drain holes and bungs and in the near future a trip to the panel beaters to smikafy it. Just for the recrd the weather calmed down almost immediately after i finished.Ha. So here's a couple of pics and soon ill break out the good camera and take some decent shots and post them up, of how the truck has transformed over the past 2 years from stock and everything done to it was on the the bitumen road out front.

Nice job. The gap between the body and the rear bar seems to be a bit narrow. Mine was the same and the bar (Patroldocta) hit the body.

It has about 15mm. Hopefully that's not too bad.

i cut mine to find it full of putty so it turned out better to cut it out any way & yeah i had more than 15 mm more like 30 mm and i still drove it up to touch the body, but think of it this way it would of smashed my quater if it wasnt there :P

i stuffed my rear bar up... cut my quaters and then made my rear bar but my body is sitting on the bar... bit of a rush job because had to use my mates welder before he went back to the mines...
