Hey guys, my Name is hendrik. I´m a traveller from Germany. My plan was to travel around Oz with my own 4WD. So i bought a Toyota Landcruiser Troopcarrier in Sydney. So far so good. A had the car checked by a mechanic before I bought it for 9000$. I didn´t came far. In Newcastle the first big issue I spend 1053 $ in repairs. The in Coffs Harbour a Second Stop at a mechanic. There I realized that the mechanic from Sydney and the seller ripped me off. The car had huge issues again and i spend again more than 500 $ in repairs. The journey continues and now I´m in Townsville. I have had another Garage stop in Home Hill and spend again 500 $. The mechanic told me I still have lots of issues. The Problem is, that i really don´t know if they try to rip me off again. I´m looking for somebody that i can trust because i don´t know much about serious repairs. I spend almoust my complete Money in repairs for the car and did not have much fun in australia. So this is maybe my last Chance to find someone who might help me with my car. I´m in Townsville now. my phone number is 0470-631930.
Please guys i really don´t know what else to do.
I hope i put this in the correct thread. If not please relocate.
Cheers, hendrik

Post "Please recommend a reputable mechanic in Townsville" in general chit-chat, with a short, succinct story of your situation. You'll likely get more views that way. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

As dogbreath said, Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'd love to help you out but I'm in Sydney and that's a bit of a drive from Townsville. I'd really hate to be in your situation and I wish you the best of luck.

Re: Emergency call, need help with troopy
hey guys, thanks for response. I´m gonna put this in the chit chat.
What has been done so far: General Service, new wheel bearing on right hand side (front), new brake pads (front), new diff on left Hand side (rear), new clutch cylinder and other small repairs.
What is to do: Wheel bearings on other side and rear, spring bushes (?) on front, engine mounting is broken, leaf spring on right Hand side (front) needs to be repaired (there is space between the leafs), the coolant liquid is leaking, the part behind the wheel bearings Need to be done, I don´t know the name of that (swivel hub or something like that) and some other small repairs.
Cheers hendrik
