Getting mud in bead. Any solutions?
A couple of times ive got mud in between the bead and the rim which has then got under the bead resulting in a leak. Any ways to stop this from happening, some sort of deflector? Pressures have been high, nothing below 15psi.

Run higher pressures.
Mud in the bead is a part of wheeling in mud.
Maybe make sure the rim and bead are really clean next time you have to strip the tyres off and reseat it.

If you use Sika expect to have to use an angle grinder to get the tyres off

Lol.. Yeh I almost wrecked a relationship between myself n a tyre fitter with sikaflex. Bloody strong stuff but don't use if your planning to pull it apart anytime soon.
Just go neutral cure silicone and make sure you clean first with solvent so it'll stick, you can still get that apart.

You can aply the sika after the tire is already on. just make the hole at the end of the tube really small. Then use your finger to rub along the crack between your tire and rim. If you do it right it will get enough in there to "help" stop the mud from getting in there.

Having had internals and have mates that still perseve with them mechicals are the go. No more skined knuckles from repairing punchures in the inner tube or flat tyres. they are a "bit" better but still not a patch on mechanicals .. from what I have seen on truck I have been out with.

i ruined my relationship with him when i took some 35'x13.5" maxxis mudzillas to him on 16x10" alloy rims(that he wasnt aloud to scratch and he had to do them with levers cause they were to big for every machine in town. all 5 of them. hated me after that,brad 93hilux wrote:Lol.. i play in mud all the time bro. run my 35" claws at 12-15 psi every trip and every trip or so i take off tyres and go to thre shop. they charge me $10 a tyre and fully strip and clean the beads every time. i havent worried bout tryking to stop it cause itll only keeo the stuff in there

Regularly use the sikaflex. Gotta make sure the bead of the tyre and seat of the rim is really clean before applying.
I hate myself when the tyres come back and need changing. Adds about 10-15min/wheel to the fitting time in order to clean all the old sikaflex off and reapply.
Mechanical Beadlocks are a better long term solution, not legal though.
Internals are good for keeping the bead area at higher pressure. I still use sikaflex on them too though.

I had a set of staun internal bead locks, they still let dirt in the sides, they cause vibrations, ull never find someone to fit tyres to ur rim without stuff the second airs, so i sold them and bought creeper locks from snake racing best buy eve,
