TD42T rebiuld

Post by pootrol td42t »

Hello all this my first post on the forum so here goes. I recently cooked my td42t gu hence the rebiuld.
What I already have as follows: massive billet radiator, 3inch lift, dual bat, 3inch exhaust, detachable sway bars,10/16 rims with 35's, high flowed feul pump.
What I'm getting with the rebiuld: everything balanced, head flowed and ported, a better turbo cant make up my mind wich one yet and im putting it on gas as well.
Problem I need advice on I cant cool the car down with a intercooler because gas is already cooler then air any way so the intercooler with have no affect so i got to thinking how ealse I can cool her down bearing in mind a hell of alot of work is done at low speeds, I come up with using a pwr water to oil inline cooler but I want to run this off a top mount radiator so it does not take any thing away from my main radiator problem is would I have to have a thermostat on this system could i cool the oil to much and if so how would I go about this any advice on this would be great or put youre 2 cents worth on the rebiuld in general its always great to hear others view thank you all

the lpg won't do bugger all cooling so you will still need intercooler.
for slow speeds a water/air intercooler will work better. fit the radiator in front of radiator.

whats been done to the fueling as that may well determine what turbo you will run, which may mean other mods such as intake manifold.

forget water-oil cooler. apart from that it already has one it gets really complicated having multiable pumps etc. easier and better just to have an oil-air cooler in front of the radiator. you can get oil thermostats easy enough.
