Its a pretty small selection in stickies unless u jump up a few sizes 43 sx's, 42 irocs, hard to get and exy 39 reds, 40 mtr's yella's, i think the thread is still going on pirate for 40/42? Sticky boggers, dont think federal do a 40?, rare but 40 claws, some old 40 procomps floating around? Toyos? Or 40 creepies.

This is primarily for toperi and if other events come up. Plus a few day runs per year. The tyres are in storage when not used. The gu ute is registered and I have 35s for road and 37 treps for other events too. My 40s are on 17 x 8 bead locks and would like to use the rims/wheels again. The large tyres never see tar.
Will only consider 39 or 39.5s only.

You can get the bfg here.. Just got to get the right dealer.. Even look at bringing them in on your own.. But a bfg your looking at about $1200 a tyre..
To be honest i can't see the point of changing the TREPS if its only for toperi .. (500m of driving a yr)..

It doesn't bother me too much on the tyre brand as long as they are a great tyre. Had a heap of diff tyres in the past. Standard MUDs. Bfg,Mtr,Mtz,pro comp, boggers(shit) bias claws(great)stt,2 sets of trepadore(best so far)
The 40s are also a very heavy tyre, but have been lucky and only smashed a front locker.
Just read online on the blue and they seem very good too.

Good, but doubt the gain in points will be worth going to Blue Label Krawlers..
Re: What options for 39s and 39.5 in tyres
I don't like to follow and it was a big struggle to buy maxxis treps.
Many years ago there were only 2 cars running Micky Ts Baja claws in Nissan trials and both cars did well every year.
So if I decide to go down this road it's just because there are not many cars with them. BUT I'm not in a hurry to make any decision right now and just looking forward to driving on the 40s this weekend at mudgee.

Re: What options for 39s and 39.5 in tyres
The weight of the trep would 't have done your front diff, it is the new found traction coming from slicks - standard compounds. U will find it hard to beat the trep for a allrounder/reasonable priced tyre. Bfg blues will have no where the traction of sticky treps. If u want reds keep your eye out on pirate's classifieds as they come up abit. 39's are reds 39.5's are blues, and u will need 5 not four as their sidewall is ordinary.
I understand you dont want to b 'another' and run treps, thats why i bought 42" reds, but they are common for a reason, affordable, good sidewall, good traction

They are common because there cheap... id run my old irocs over treps they work just as well if not better.. I have a set of bald BFGs that have been one alot of cars over the years and find them to be awesome.. I have just fitted a set of BFG brawlers, same tread as the BFG but heavier sideway.. but very very hard to get in aus i only know of about 5 sets in the county.
