Post by Fakey »

Has anyone ever heard of or looked into wether or not cruiser and patrol detroit lockers have interchangeable side gears?
I'd like to build up a 60 series/gq hi pinnion hybrid front diff with a detroit if its possible

I thought detroits for patrol diffs were discontinued some time ago.

Try ringing your nearest Eaton-Spicer outlet and asking them to check part numbers.

Detroits are still available for a patrol, Harrop are eaton dealers. Eaton bought the "detroit locker" design and name.
A harrop dealer's price is close to $1300 for one. so buying two to build a bitsa if you are getting trade prices is in the vicinity of $2600
probably cheaper to do something else.
Have you checked the spline diameter and count on Patrol Vs Cruiser? you might find they slip straight in. dont forget to also measure the distance inside the centre between the ends of the axles.
