This might be a dumb question for some of you, but how do you know if you have a 12 volt or 24 volt MQ diesel?
The guy who bought my SD33T engine said his diesel MQ was 24 volt....I was thinking mine was 12 volt. Anyone know?
Thanks

SD33T - 12 volt or 24 volt?
Early SD33 is 24volt.......
Late SD33T is 12volt......
He will have to use his starter and alternator.
There will also be a difference on the electric fuel pump cutoff switch and there may be a difference with the glow plugs but don't know.
So for the limited info but that is what I can tell you off hand.
cheers

That is cool to know. I thought it just was depending on certain countries and such. Mine is 24v and all electrical parts are 24v stuff. Relays, glow plugs, headlights, gauges...the relays mounted on the inner fenders say 24v right on them. Glow plugs have no markings, at least mine don't. Easier way to tell...a 24v systems uses 2 batteries. 12v uses one unless upgraded for more power.
