any1 know if u can just put a turbo on the hilux 2.8 diesel motor?

yes. most common turbo is to use is the surf 2lt (2.4) turbo and manifold. just make sure its 2lt(2) or 2lte turbo (ie square port turbo) as early 2.4 turbo's won't fit.
there is plenty of write ups on this.
otherwise look at DTS kit which i think uses TD04 turbo off the mitsi 2.8 diesel.

Hi there

I had a 2.8 hilux for several years and converted it to a 1KZ-te (3ltr factory turbo with)

The change over cost was only $2.5k and the result was considerably better than the bolt on turbo option, albeit more expensive.

Just something worth thinking about.
