rust

sheck roofline all thw way round, bottom of front fenders near the door, around the wiper motor in the firewall, rear quarters down the bottom near rear bumper, doors etc.

rust is a killer on these trucks.

hey mate, as shadow said rust. its pretty major in these old girls and the roof gutter channels are notorious. That and ive seen floor pans. generally just an fourby with a bit of age will have a bit of wear and tear, just depends on there history. Top rigs but, can go anywhere, i have a mate thats on his 2nd now and pretty well bullet proof. heaps of aftermarket gear for v8 conversions, and the 2h responds well to a turbo setup.

just general checks like any other solid axle, check swivel hubs for leaks, another issue is between the transfer and gearbox that can run them dry. thers a simple mod with a bit of hose between the 2.

Check things like diffs for leaks and noise, gearbox, its pretty easy to crack the filler plugs on the gearbox and diffs 15/16" bung and check state and colour of oils to help you bargain a price.

heaps of info on here and ih8mud forums on the old girls, have fun and good luck
