Stroker engine up and running now, still running it in, has loads of touque from idle, high lift cam creates alot more valve train noise but the benifits are worth it, I only have to feather the throttle to do a 100km/hr at 2200rpm, 33" tyres. Sounds awsome too deeper note combined with turbo spool up is music to my ears. Can't give it full noise yet have to restrain myself until its run in.

Love the sound of this. Can't wait for more info. R&D into longevity will also be interesting.

Has anyone considered running qd32 pistons and rods in a td42.
they are already a 102mm stroke engine with a big bore based on the td27 platform.

I will have to take some footage of the beast, sounds and goes great, still running standard GU TD42T pump, its begging for more fuel, the turbo is making 28psi in 5th at 3200rpm, I imagine it would make alot more with more fuel.
Idle is very ruff when cold and lots of valve train noise due to high lift cam, but runs very smooth once warm.

this could be the first ever "performance" cam that is actually higher performance than the factory turbo cam.
Obviously you don't want to hand the specs out but I am interested in whatever you are willing to share about the cam.
I presume it's a roller cam and the lifter bores in the block have been machined with key grooves?

what turbo is on it at the moment?

Cam is custom grind from CAM tech in Sydney, base circle is ground right down, overlap reduced, about .500" lift. Still running solid stock lifters, no rollers, may run roller rockers later, have double valve springs aswell.

Turbo custom build, by myself, balanced to 150,000 rpm.

Someone in America, is all I can say, they build up the big ends with nicosil welding, then regrind 3mm offset, which gives you 6mm extra stroke. They also made the rods and pistons to match it.
