Hi just a question, not long ago i bought a feshly built 80 centre and have a complete 80 diff at home.
Now plans have changed and am moving back to WA and am storing lux at parents along with all my spares
This 80 centre was going to get thrown into the housing and was thinking of filling it with cheap engine oil as i won't look at installing it in the next 12 months, will the air locker seals be fine with this oil to sit for a while untill i get around to fitting it in the truck? Cant have it going rusty being it cost alot to build.
Cheers brad

You can store it in my housing, won't be rusty but can't guarantee it won't be broken.

Re: Storing a air locked 80 centre
I actually have 2 80 series housings here, do you think engine oil would be ok to have it in so it doesn't rust..
Lol yeh at least it would be well and truly worn in stilivn

Re: Storing a air locked 80 centre
Can't you just give it a good coat of oil then wrap it in some heavy duty packing wrap?

Re: Storing a air locked 80 centre
Yeh could do just didnt know if that'll be enough to stop moisture getting in, I'd hate to have the new bearings or gears get surface rust
