RB25DET TO GQ GEARBOX

Post by SCANAS »

Hi Guys,

Is the RB25det a straight fit to a gearbox that originally had an RB30 infront of it? Any tricks or Negatives regarding this match up ( RB25 to GQ gearbox ) standard clutch ok?

Thanks,

Dan

Not sure about the RB30 gearbox, but im sure they bolt straight upto the 2.8 diesel gearbox.
Its not cool, unless it's got boost :)

yes it will fit, both rb30 and rd28 use the fs5r30a trans, your clutch, flywheel and all bolts will fit the rb25.
the 30 and 25 block are near identical apart from the 30mm (approx.) extra deck height on the 30.

Bit late, but... Ever considered a 1JZ with a a340 4-speed auto behind it? The Jeep AW4's in Cherokee's are the same box and they come up for $200 all the time. The a340/AW4's can be manualised easily with RADesigns shifter and there's a few mods available to beef 'em up. The New Process transfers attached to them have a low range reduction of 2.72 which is nice and low but is left hand drop. They're easy to adapt Atlas' too, as well as D300's which can be twin sticked, re-geared to 4:1 and have 32 spline output shaft options.
