80 Series gearbox speedo drive pin lost...new one?

Post by colinwhirlpool »

I had my HZJ80 cruiser gearbox & transfer case out a few days ago to replace the engine rear main seal and the gearbox output seal (goes between transfer case and gearbox).

Job was big for my standards but went smoothly EXCEPT, I lost the drive pin that goes between the speedo gear drive and the screw on sensor.

The local dealer struggled to identify the part I needed from his computer drawings.

Can anyone here help? OEM part number OR alternative?

Thanks.

Do you mean the pin shown here under the Toyota label?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-LANDC ... 35d04a53aa" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If so you should be able to buy it individually for a few bucks. The part number is 83783-22010 (double check with your vin number at the dealer).

The diagram for this part is under the electrical section, so the guy may have missed it if looking under the powertrain section.

Thanks Oldmate!

Yep, that's the one.

Cheers
