looking forward to some news on the alloys
dealing direct with Iveco should enable you to fit the 37" tyres without the speed rating in the ECU being dropped?
I'm really looking at one of these with a camping box on the dual cab and still tow the offroad van- as such I don't want the rear "incorporated" into the cab, are you looking at doing this?
keen to see what develops, and some real world testing.
I have access to a "raw" testing ground on Stradbroke Island, as we are also looking at fleet vehicles for the sand mine, these things being more sturdy and fit for purpose (maybe) than the v8 cruiser utes or the isuzu NPR trucks or the MAN 8x8 we currently use

We are going to have the units delivered to our spec with ECU ready for the 37" meats.
They can be reprogrammed at any time, to any rolling diameter - but it does cost a few dollars, and has to be done specially for every vehicle - hence why this is something our EVA spec units will have. There is no speed limiting with the smaller tyres.

Well.... I spent my Christmas break working on the big girl,
Have a tray built fitted, 4 child restraints and a new stereo all in!
There are a few grumbles we will have to overcome - the seats are pissing high, and if set at the correct weight on the suspension seats - you look straight into the visor (I'm 5'11").
So we will lower these 75mm in our production units.
The transfer lever is where the gear lever normally is and lots of drivers quickly pull it out of gear on the transfer through habit - we will shorten the lever to match the other one next to it.
Otherwise, I'm having a ball driving it - and it really is better appointed and more comfortable then my 70.

We had a test drive to Seaforth to test the vehicles touring ability. After 2000k's we are loving the truck.
I was sad to get back in to 76 on Monday - so it's up for sale shortly. Iveco is way more my style!
Fridge that will be standard in all variants - mounted up higher though for easy access;
The beast;
Rosey's barracuda off the boat ramp on poppers!
Loaded up (no sides as the sheet metal joint was not open)
Homemade towbar for use until our custom HR units arrive.
Rear view of tray (head board in form ply as no sheetmetal shops open)

I saw one of these kitted out on the Nullarbor last week.
Vic plates, had a sticker on the back of the framework on the tray saying something about metal fabrications some where in Gippsland. It also had a map of Aust on the side, looked like they'd recently set it up and were one the first leg of a round Aust trip, towing a tri axle van. They had 4 canoes on the roof too.
I was going to take a photo for you, but they shot through, before I could get my camera out.
Looked mega cool.

I'm working out the design of mine in CAD
fridges, weber and outside kitchen, kayaks and solar on the top, queen bed inside- setting up for discrete stopovers so cannot have poptop

Not sure if it's yours 4WD26 but that front bar looks wrong.
In my unqualified opinion the tube needs to be an inch thicker and the design could be a bit nicer on the eye too.
Bru will you try any colours ie silver? White is great for scratches and I know you'll probably give yours a good time offroad but most customers probably won't want to scratch up there new toy even if it was white and a nice silver would make it less commercial and more personal attachment = more $$$ for you.

I wanted graphite as I think it will look great with the green in my logo, and want to run silver as standard issue - generally as it hides the dirt so well.
I have been advised time and again by Iveco not to get colours - as everyone orders white, so it will be a try and see thing.
Mine will be standard car licence spec - 4495kg GVM 7995kg GCVM,

I think you have the right idea about colours for your purpose.
Most dealers only order white because they sell to businesses who have no personal attachment to the car and it's generally cheaper. In our commercials we order about 90% white in everything but the top of the range. The top of the range generally sells to private people so we order them in only colours with a white here or there just so we can advetise the non mettallic price.

someone was asking about dimensions- these are the factory specs, would expect a little better with larger tyres, but not signifantly
also the departure angle is with the horrid rear protection bar (BRU has welded a tow bar to) but without this, the angle is huge.
I can work out from my cad drawings if required?

it doesnt look like it complies to the ADR codes..
as if the tray overhangs quite a bit..
meant to be 50 deg or soo... in the vertical plane.. as if you a looking down on the rear of the tray.
your still meant to see the tail lights
The lights are way too far in from the rear of the tray.
and the rope rail is restricting the full view
whether or not it gets policed is another thing.
but i did meet a young fella in mackay
he got done because he used WAY TOO small of a lights on his tray
for an example a bus was following you or a semi..
cant see your lights
but its a code weve had to follow..

Thanks for your concerns - it's appreciated.
The setup is only temporary, as the lights are factory and mounted to the chassis - they will be coming off when the glass body is fitted and the tray will get its own LED lights.
Tray will be off in a matter of weeks for the camper sub chassis build - as soon as our new extrusion for the body panel arrives.
I intend to have the tray fitted when the body is being developed, and off again when we need to do design or testing work.

Oooh LED lights
i put some work lights... for my canopy and another for when im reversing.
and installed a diode into the system
somehow the diode went crook and i was blowing fuses every time i put my indicator on ..past 3 flashes..
go over 3 and fuse would blow
kept at it..
changing fuses till i had a chance to fix the problem
i knew where it was earthing out.
fixed that and then i kept blowing fuses as it i didnt fix a thing
i was honestly happy to burn my car down
but i knew all along that diode was my trouble
just didnt get around to doing it.
just go overkill on the diodes when you do the light upgrades.
it had me stumped..
and waa going to go to the auto lecky with a few bucks and say here rewire the bitch ...
im over it
but i fixed it..
jaycar are a friendly business who are more than helpful
for me anyway
6amp diode for about 1.95 each
im going to be soldering 2 in line together
its basically a one way valve..
as led use stuff all power..
it stops the un used current going back up the line..

Seems like a strange solution on a dc circuit where the current flows in one direction .
The Diode might help due to the volt drop across it.
The thermal flashers on the majority of cars are not generally suitable for L.E.D lights and an electronic unit is needed.
They are easy to install - just pull the standard unit out and the new unit plugs into the same space.
