Cruiser diffs

Post by RockyF75 »

Tried the cruiser bible couldn't find it, but what models if any are interchangeable with 60 series?

Are diesel and petty diffs the same? Trying to hunt down a rear center for my diesel 60 and wondering if the 75 series or others used the same diff.

Yeah, 40, 60, 70s are interchangeable. All are 4.1 ratio. Some early 40s will have different axle splines and driveshaft flange.

40s also have a smaller pinion. Best bet is front centre from a 60. Will have had less use and no chance of different flange.

Early 40's have a small pinion and a different flange with a solid pinion spacer. Early 60's also have a different flange and a solid pinion spacer which is a benefit, makes changing the flange easy too. Late 60's have the larger flange like a 70 series but with collapsible pinion spacers which make changing the flange/seal more difficult.

I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.
