Hand throttle knob wont stay on

Post by Mark2 »

When I try to lock the hand throttle by turning the nob, (GQ Diesel), the nob comes off the end of the shaft. The nob seems to mount similar to a bayonet type light bulb ie you push and turn it onto the shaft. It looks like a bit of a design fault because the direction the nob is turned to lock the throttle seems to be the same way it comes of the shaft.

Anyone had this problem? Do I need a new nob  or should I just glue the thing on?

I need a new knob. All I have is a bit of metal shaft sticking out.

You may be turning it too hard.
Pull out and turn only a little bit to lock.
Urethane glue works well if broken.
