Toperi challenge

Toperi Challenge 2008 - 2013

Over the last six years the Canobolas 4WD Club has successfully run the Toperi Challenge as an annual event. Toperi has been widely regarded by competitors and spectators alike as a great weekend run professionally by a small friendly club.

Unfortunately the club will not be hosting the Toperi Challenge in 2014. There are a number of reasons for this decision chief among them relating to the workload required by a small club, insurance issues and ever increasing regulations and costs.

The club would like to thank all other 4WD clubs that have supported the event. The enthusiasm shown, behaviour exhibited and assistance provided helped make the event a great success.

Once Tuff Truck is over ideas will be explored to see if the Toperi Challenge can be replaced in some way. There is nothing definite yet but a few options have been raised.

Thanks again for your support over the last six years.

That's a shame, was a great comp. I was at the first one, very relaxed.
Hope something can come of it, theres already not enough comps in NSW, without loosing another one.

Thanks to all that ran this one over the years.

Have to say that Toperi has been my favorite comp since it began.

From the outside looking in you would never guess that the whole comp was organised and run by a small club of hard working members as it was done in such a professional way, you should all be proud of what you have achieved.

Coming from a small club myself i know just how hard it can be to motivate members to give up the little spare time they have outside of work to put on an event so my hat goes off to you all.

Also a big thanks to Tony and Penny Richards for letting us converge on their property each November, not many people would be willing to let hundreds pf people stay on their property.

On behalf of myself and the Kamikaze club would like to thank you all for the great times we have had at Toperi over the years.

That truely is a devestating blow to the nsw comp scene, such a well organised event on a great property. And also still a relaxed atmosphere. I also must say best recoveries of and any comp (man those guys could drive the tracks off those excavators). Iv learnt alot whatching how well your club does things out there (both from the sideline and as a navi) and i must say me and the On All Fours Club will greatly miss toperi and hope that any possible replacement u guys come up with will be just as awesome.

As already mentioned, it's a sad day for the comp scene! From an Events perspective, you've done an impressive job as few realize just how much time, effort and energy goes into these things.

Good luck! Hope to see Toperi back on the calendar soon.

Definitely a sad day for the NSW comp scene. Toperi was the best event bar none. A Chris said you would never have known such a professional event could be run by such a small group of people.
Hopefully Toperi can make a come back.
Thanks to Tony and Penny for the use of their backyard over the last 6 years.

It is sad to hear this, I have been a competitor at many comps and this was one of the best. An event run by competitors for competitors, run fair and well every year. A big thanks to Tony for use of his property and big thanks to the marshals, ladies in the canteen and everyone from the Canobolas club for the huge effort that went in to running the comp every year. I have competed at every Toperi Challenge and it has always been a highlight of the year. Anyone that is looking to start a comp would be mad not to look at this comp, the way it was run, and try and emulate it in any way.
I just hope that southern NSW gets some good news in the comp scene after Tuff Truck!
