HI Guys,
I have a 95' 2.8D LN106 hilux, and she's developed a bizarre electrical fault that I can't work out, so I'm looking for some help, if any of you have encountered something similar?
Basically, everything appears fine when I'm just driving around, but as soon as I put some extra load on the electrical system, say turn the fan on full, the Temp gauge sky rockets, turn the fan off and the Temp Gauge goes back to normal. If you then start to indicate left or right, while the fan is on, the damn gauge bounces left and right in time with the indicator. The Air Con doesn't really affect it (its not driven electrically), but headlights, braking (i.e. the brake lights) and pretty much anything else that draws current off the electrical system will cause this to happen.
Since this issue started, I have replaced the Alternator with a genuine Toyota replacement and replaced the battery. She starts up just fine, runs as beautifully as 2.8 can but I really am running out of ideas on this one so any suggestions are welcome at this point.
If I haven't provided enough detail just ask.
Cheers,
JB
