Basically they looked at the rules both vertically & horizontally if you catch my drift ....

I love it when people actually read the rules and exploit them for what there worth. Good on Pip. If you couldn't tell what that car was based on go get your eyes checked.
There were a lot less capable cars that a lot of punters would struggle to recognise.
Agreed.

From what I had heard, they had consulted with the Prices throughout the whole build process, and everything was OK'd.

So if the people who make the rules dont have a problem with the side profile, there is no problem IMO. If the car had 10, 20 or 30% more side profile, they still would have won by ten gazillion points anyway :D

Stuff the haters.

Your rig was the hardest to take pics off as it had the most people constantly checking it out.

Great to see something different

There's some impressive negative scores there. How do you manage such a score ?

Minus 50 points for not attempting a stage. Minus 200 points for turning up covered in red fluff.

We managed to get a negative score which sucks! Had to pull out on Saturday morning unfortunately after our "new" transmission gave up in the mud run on friday night. I gather they kept taking points off for stages we couldn't make it too.... aaah the new car blues.

At least we can only go better next year! :D

Newer versions than 406's. Bigger axles again than the 406's

Mogs on Pips Jeep are U4000 I think they are called. They are current Mogs on military transporters.

-50 points for each stage not started, which for us (elmo) was one track plus the mud Saturday night and all of Sunday, due to a very annoying electrical problem that meant after replacing a steering hose after rocky horror we couldn't start the engine again, yet it fired up first go.once we got it home, now for the fun job of tracking down the dodgy wiring that caused it!

There were a few choice words said when it fired up without hassle in the driveway yes lol
Guessing it's computer related we spent most of sat arvo/night chasing wires around looking for a broken or loose connection and double checking all the obvious things, now it's home and can't fault it lol bit of a shame but that's Ttc
Ahh well, looking forward to next year the rest of it was going well for its maiden voyage bring on some seat time haha

That's cars for ya blokes!

It is what it is.

I build a supposedly unbreakable car and then I grenade 5 driveshafts...

That's just the roll of the dice.

I had electrical problems also, car stalled on night stage, wouldn't start, gave starter a hit thinking it was the mud Friday night an off it went, started first go Sunday, drove to rocky horror, wouldn't start, spend next hour or two working out starter wire was dodgy!

We just broke axles made of cheese. Spent most of Saturday welding some other ones together and managed to make the rest of the weekend.

Newy Crew drove the mudrun Friday night, was a great moment indeed, and a perfect start to the weekend.
It kinda went downhill from there though.
Saturday morning we found the transmission leaking, so we went over it all, trying to stop it. The best we could do was slow it.
We plodded on, did ok on Saturdays stages, lost drive at the top of Heartbreak Ridge, due to just about all the trans fluid leaking out while we were waiting.
Got it back to pit and topped it up, and checked it all over, and it was good again.
Jawbreaker first up Sunday, Twon hooked a tyre on the big rock before the 40point marker, which sent him over.
Bit of damage, cage held up great, broke lightbar, bonnet hinges, guards, dumped all fluids and smashed the oil cooler for the hydro steer.
We tried to fix it on the side of the track, we were parked next to Rumlux, who had done the same thing just before us.
Got manitoued back to pits, tried to fix it, but no spare oil cooler, so we called it and decided to get drunk instead.

Great weekend as usual, despite the rain. Always enjoy catching up with all the people I only get to see at TTC.
Thanks to the Prices, and Pete, for putting on a great event.

The standard of cars this year was amazing.
Bring on next year!!
