G'day fella's
Been a while since I've been on here. I've been pretty busy building a house. Anyway, I bought the missus a 92 V6 Vitara recently and it's in need of tyres. Very few offroad ones available for the 16" rims and seemingly even less for the 15" rims. My question is, will 31x10.5 R15's fit without scraping and stuff and if so, what offset should I get?
Thanks people.

Re: 31's on a vitara
Have to run 16" rims on a V6 as they have bigger brakes. 31's will require a bit of work to fit. Just to be clear are we talking about the older square shape or the jellybean one?
Grow some balls.
That is all.

Thanks for the reply. Here's a photo. Are there any tyres that you would recommend?

Re: 31's on a vitara
That model is usually referred to as a Grand Vitara. From what I have read 225/75/16 will fit standard with no rubbing, 245/75/16 will fit with a lift but do rub slightly. There are very few aftermarket rims that will fit due to lack of brake caliper clearance.

Not true.......zukmeista wrote:That model is usually referred to as a Grand Vitara. From what I have read 225/75/16 will fit standard with no rubbing, 245/75/16 will fit with a lift but do rub slightly. There are very few aftermarket rims that will fit due to lack of brake caliper clearance.
I have a GV and yes 225/75/16 will fit without lift but will rub. You will need to remove the mud flaps.
245/75/16 can be made to fit but you will have to start cutting and hammering the inner guards. You will need lift, bump stop spacers, Panhard mods, and lots of Time and money to make them worth the hassle.

Have a look through here.........

you will find what I had to do to get 245/75/16 (31's) to fit
