I'm sure it could be done.

I pick up the odd Warn winch from an almost permanent wanted ad I have on Gumtree.

Here's a link to a thread I started about a Warn highmount I bought for parts which had been converted to hydraulic, never did try the hydraulics though. It's now got a fair few mods and on the front of my Patrol.
