Hella Ralleye FF 4000
So, does anyone have these: http://www.myhellalights.com/index.php/ ... 4000-fog1/
They are slightly different to the normal 4000 (dimensions are almost exactly the same) but they have a 55w globe. The reason I am looking is that they are on sale at Repco for 199 leading up to Fathers day. i would rather drop 199 on these than anything else in the price range.
The 55W thing makes me think they wont be that good but it has a glass reflector so it should take a 100W bulb or HID ok heat wise.
Thoughts?
Note: no I am not goint to mortgage my house for a set of Light Forces.........my other choice was the Roo lite or take my chances with something off fleabay but I like the look of these lights, they are neat and tidy plus they are Hella!
Welcome to other suggestions too.

Re: Hella Ralleye FF 4000
You could have a look at these - same price - $199 if you buy two
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SL3922
I have a set, very impressed with them really good spread and depth and excellent quality light colour.
They don't have the harsh glare of the HID's that I ditched - better light colour.
Cheers

I did (after our last convo about them) but they were out of stock.
Back in stock now it seems. Is that 200 per light?

Same price for spot or spread units , If you do buy, buy 2 x spot units - they have excellent spread anyway

Re: Hella Ralleye FF 4000
I have the older ones of these look the same and they will cook a rabbit at 1 km. Both are spot beams. Can't remember the watts. You can get hid upgrade for these quite cheap if you want. Don't ask me to produce the rabbit either......

Re: Hella Ralleye FF 4000
Well wasn't that a let down, local Repco didn't have them on stock so they ordered a "kit" in for me. Turns out a "kit" is one lamp with a globe.
I guess in this day and age of every body trying to get their hands deep into your pockets I should have expected no less.

Re: Hella Ralleye FF 4000
Well I decided on these:
$254 off fleabay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 1309889857
Pretty good price considering the local accessories shop wanted $369 for them. I have to say, and especially here in Canberra because they think they can, the local shops all charge way too much for stuff. If they had been within 50 bucks of this price I would have bought local.
Same with pushbike gear, there is one bloke in the north of Canberra who charges a little more than internet prices but way less than any other shop in town who mark up 3-400%. Guess who gets my business?

Re: Hella Ralleye FF 4000
The ones you are looking at have the fog optics. So lots of spread and not much distance. The advantage they have over the roolite ones is they have a metal housing and will not break unless given a really hard smack from a tree ect

Well, what a PITA these things have turned out to be.............
They vibrate like buggery, exacerbated on dirt roads.........& I mean real bad.
The dude I bought them off has been really helpful and so has Hansa by sending me a washer kit to fix it. Sweet so I go to fit it just then and the pivot bolt is completely seized and I cannot undo it. THE FRIGGIN LIGHTS HAVE ONLY BEEN ON THE CAR 6 WEEKS!
So I have had to take them off..........I have never had so much trouble with a set of lights.........anyway, we will see what the bloke I bought them off comes up with.

Sweet, thanks Bru.
I just heard brack from thema nd they are going to give me a credit or exchange.
They dont really ahve any other lights that I want so I might just exchange this set because of the problem bolts and put the Narva brackets on them.
