Hey all,
Has anyone ever tried out stainless gasless migwire?
It will be in my mates mig (400ish amp, high quality) for a few little projects. We wont be doing enough or highly frequently enough stainless stuff to warant crazy bottle rentle prices plus filling gas. It will just be for small jobs on our trucks every now and then. I have a cheap shit gasless mig with steel flux core and its hard to get a hard decent weld at the best of times.
So before we go out and rent a bottle and get some stainless wire would it be worth having a go at trying the gasless stainless in a high qulaity mig?
Cheers!

I work for an OE manufacturer of food preparation machinery. All our stuff is stainless. For our critical welds in thicker material (greater than 6mm) We use Avesta 1.2mm AWS A5.22 E308L TO-1, according to our weld procedures.Zookified wrote:Hey all,

Re: Stainless gasless migwire
Thanks for that mate.
It must be alright if you fellas are using it gasless in a factory situation. I will have to have a look around and see what some of it is worth.

Sorry, I should have said that this is a flux-cored wire, but we also use a shielding gas with it. Belt and braces.Zookified wrote:Thanks for that mate.
