[SSS Winch Challenge]

Nominations are now open for the final round of the year.

Please note all nominations and payment must be received by Thursday 13 November 2014.

Venue: Landcruiser Mountain Park

Dates: 21 - 23 November 2014

Catering: Available from Friday night to Sunday lunch

Camping: Trakka Terrace

Spectator Friendly: Yes

Scrutineering: From 2pm to 5pm Friday

Racing starts: 7pm Friday

Format: The format for Round 2 has changed a little this year.

Friday night will still have 2 stages under lights.

Saturday’s stages will consist of 2 stages before lunch. 1 will be a 2 hour stage with multiple cars on track while the other winch stage will be run at the same time.

After lunch there will be another 2 stages. Depending on the time and light left in the day there could be 1 winch stage and 1 speed stage back to camp or 2 winch stages.

Sunday will have its famous side by side racing to complete the weekends racing. Followed by presentation shortly after.

There will be GPS waypoints to find and stages will be spectator friendly.

We are leaving for the Park tomorrow morning early to start setting up. It's been hot, dry and dusty for the last few weeks but the forecast is a few showers...we will see.

[SSS Winch Challenge]

It has been extremely hot, dry and very dusty. Until about 4.30 this afternoon with a torrential 40ml downpour in half an hour. The creeks are running now and it has certainly cooled it down a little. The boys aren't happy because they may have to change the tracks a bit tomorrow.

Friday and Sunday stages have been completed. Still trying to complete Saturdays at this stage.

Side by side racing under lights Friday night. Saturday morning speed run out to stages with the last stage being a GPS winch. Sunday will be 2 car side by side racing - 1 monster track.

Racing to start at about 7pm on Friday.

We are camping at Trakka Terrace.

Well that's another year done & dusted, literally. I think this was the hottest & driest round we have ever had & the teams really had to work hard in the heat.
