Getting brand new RANCHO's! but....

As the subject suggests i will be getting brand new shocks, for when the cruiser is sprung over. I am going to order directly from www.rancho.com.au (free postage) but i dont wanna be stranded with a sprung over truck with no shocks for a couple of days after measuring the distance between shock mounts. Is there a way to measure (accuractly) without actually doing the spring over first?

id just do the spoa work out what length ya need and drive to castle hill and buy them prolly be much easier for ya and less stuffing around

NO, and also look into geting procomp shocks $135 ea and come upto 16" of travel but not adjustable.

Anyone got a contact around syd who sells em?

overkill and m&m both sell procomp shocks i think, but they would have to order them in for you

A leaf spring truck is not really too bad without shocks. I know it wont be as good, but a lot of dampening actually happens with inter leaf friction anyway so you would get away with it a lot more than with a coil car.

I would do the soa first as then you know exactly and are not making any 'expensive guesses'!!!

I would really think twice about spending the heaps of extra money on getting adjustable rancho's too. On a leaf spring truck imo unless you have a SUPER soft leaf pack you will only really tell any big difference between the maximum and the minimum settings.
But it is your $. Rancho seem to be the norm

Yar 5000's are the way i think i'm going. there is a big difference in price but not that big in quality me thinks

Have a look at the OME Long Travel shocks.. Bazzles been using them for ages, and loves em..

But i think my mind is set on the RS5000's.

Anyway back to the question. It looks as though i am gonna ring RANCHO in Castle Hill after doing the work in Sydney. But i still need adam to give me a hand. it'll only take two days and then we can go hardcore wheeling! And you wont be as embarresed when Larry kicks your sorry piece of poo. :finger:

Make sure the shocks you want are available when you want them.

I've been waiting for shocks to become available up here for a while before I can get some suspension work done on mine.

Container load of ranchos supposed to be gettimg in Aus this week.

Apparently pro comps have been hard to source at any time, so if you need specific model make sure you tee it up or you could go without for days/ weeks with no shocks.

I know the 9000 replaced the 9X, been thru that with warranty within 6 mths of getting them.... But I also thought the 5000 was shitcanned?

mate of mine has just gone through the process of finding shocks for his cruiser. its not sprung over, but does have custom (extended) upper and lower mounts.
was gonna be a 3 month wait to the the 9x's from the US that suited his application

I changed the Rancho's for OME's...... OME's were HEAPS better to drive with...... IMO Rancho's are only any good for slow, slow work.....

Only prob I see with OME's for this SOA is they probably wont be big enough.......
