G'day all
I have a 1992 GQ efi, petrol and gas,.
I drove up to Doncaster to babysit the grand-kids and then back down the peninsula, all without any dramas.
Before leaving Doncaster, I again refilled the vehicles petrol (the joy of cheaper fuel), and , as I said drove home.
The following morning, I went to start the car on petrol, and nothing, not a cheep out of it, it would start and run fine on the LPG, but nothing on the petrol side of things.
in the workshop manual, (Gregories I think) it shows the pump relay under the battery, as well as the fuel pump fuse, however, on removing the battery, to check these, I found that there is no fuse panel under there, and the relay, which is indicated in the manual as being for the EFI is, (I think) the unit for the fuel pump , (well it does click when I switch on the ignition.
So, what I have done is as follows, opening the hatch to access the fuel filler throat on the vehicle, and then listening, when the key is switched on to ignition,( for the pump to switch itself on), nothing happens, but then next listening at the mentioned relay, it does click when the ignition is switched on.
On the fuse panel in the cabin (beside right leg), all the fuse there are good to go.
Under the vehicle, and on top of the (Non standard north and south) petrol tank, I stuck a 12 volt tester into the plastic block which is there, and nothing, it didn't register.
So I am assuming that there is a break between the relay under the battery, and the fuel pump, or a fuse on the fuel pump itself has blown, but where can I find the fuel pump fuse?
can Any one assist?
I went up to Mornington Nissan to source another relay, but all I got was blank looks and "We don't stock them here" Repco will have to send away for one
Regards Angus

Re: Non starting electronic fuel pump
TB42E's i believe use the same relays as R31 Skylines (same era vehicle)
Perhaps it is worth supplying 12v power to the fuel pump to check it (another battery or leads.
An aside sometimes duel fuel vehicles have badly located electrical cables and or fuel lines (my fuel lines wore through due to bad routing when the new fuel tank (belly tank) was installed

Re: Non starting electronic fuel pump
Pump fuse and relay are next to the battery under the metal tray. If you clean all the dust and muck off you will see the label.
