Hilux motor conversion to Isuzu

Post by broke »

I'm looking for any advice and direction for a an idea I have to convert a LN106 Hilux with the 2.8 diesel or maybe even a petrol over to a 3.9 Isuzu diesel.

What we are hoping to end up with is a good condition, live axle, single cab, Hilux with a turboed 4cyl 3.9 Isuzu which should give enough power and torque when needed.

We are trying to set-up for the nomad thing and want to tow a rig like this around with us. If we can achieve this, I think we would have a capable, versatile vehicle with parts not too hard to get.

So any thoughts or direction would be appreciated.

Cheers
I thought about buying a Hummer
But I figured I just buy a big gold chain
And hang it around my Patrol instead
That way I still have a real 4x4
And still get people to "Look at Me"

Hi dani4JB1T

Thank you, I couldn't find anything like this. This has at least given me hope that it can be done but as with all things mechanical, it's the cost. It's looking positive still atm.

Cheers
