Experience with modifying original Panhard Rod to adjustable

Heyho, I bought a HZJ80 Landcruiser where the previous owner installed a 4 inch lift, but saved the coin and didn't install adjustable panhard rods as well as caster correction. The car drives very sloppy and the axles are both visibly off-center. I already posted a search in the classifieds, so if someone has the necessary parts laying around somewhere and doesn't need them anymore I would be happy to buy em if not too far from Melbourne.

Otherwise: Does someone have experience with modifying the original ones with an adjustment device (they are available cheap at ebay)? Does that do a good job for a car that's mostly used onroad (as I understand the aftermarket rods are all a bit stronger than the original because they are made for really tough and extensive offroad use, so wouldn't be necessary with my car).

AND: is there someone here who is able to do such a modification (of course I would pay a bit for that)?

Even worse than the off-center axles is the sloppy driveability of the car, so does someone have caster correction plates for sale as well?

Couple options

a mate had to do this panhard rod for a patrol

he cut the original one
linished it till some oversize pipe fit over the top and welded it
other option is throw it in a lathe and get either end perfect
Panhard or pipe you are using

a little bit of stuffing around measuring axles to chassis

Just because your not doing hard tracks
doesnt mean to skimp on the material your using
nice heavy wall pipe

As a suspension part I wouldn't cut corners. Weld and OE pipe can crack.
What prices have you had for a pair of adjustables? Ive seen for $360 each Retail but I can do better from my suppliers.

Also when you centre it up some of the slop will go as steering box will be centered again (tighter in middle)

me personally, i won't muck around cut and shutting a standard one in used on road. i would if i needed to for my trailered rig. buy an adjustable set, at least least for insurance purposes.

If it's going to stay a road car I'd suggest swapping lift out for 2". At best you might need a set of castor bushes. As the car sits it will be a cop target unless engineered and to get it to that point your looking at close to $1K give or take before the $1.5k for the engineer cert cost.
