Zook Club

Post by ToNkA »

Been looking at this club lately as it seems pretty active etc.

Many members not in zooks? I know the pres drives a G-Wag, etc..

Whats the low down on the club?

Events, Trips, Comps etc...

Confirmed rumours suggest that it's the best club ever... and it would be even better if we could get rid of love_mud :?

Umm, the lowdown...

Yearly fee of $60 (no additional joining fee) - this is $15 per year for insurance through VAFWDC, the rest is hiring of the hall we meet in, and hiring the PO box.

Cars in club that are not suzuki's include:
Hilux's
Hummer
80 Series
Kia
G Wagon (2 of i think)
Disco (is eric a member?)
GQ
GU

Umm, i think we have on average 2 trips per month. Most of these are day trips from melbourne, and i think about 5 or 6 camping trips occur per year.

No doubt someone else will say some more stuff about it :)

Umm, events - the zook club used to run Rhino trophy but that doesn't happen anymore...

But members in the club do compete in Cruiserkhana (if you count that as a proper event).

Zook club members on this board are:

Myself - club member
Grimbo - club web site nerd
Love_mud - club larrikan
BigSteve - club demolition
DroopyPete - club X proprieter
Christover1 - club mag editor
WaveCult - club member (i think)
CJ - club member (i think)
Jacka - club member (i think)
garyinoz - club member (i think)

Who else have i missed?

What else - oh yeah - you can come along to 3 trips as a test run to see if you think this is a good club / group of people to hang out with before we ask that you join up... how good is that - try before you buy

edit: added more member(s).

Currently we have about 40 members some active some not

Predominantly we do day trips with a bias to the harder side of medium all the way thru to the sort of stuff in the adventure tour link

We do an annual snow trip in August to Mt Skene where we camp overnight in the snow - always get around 14 or so cars great fun.

I'm trying to get a bit more weekend away camping stuff in once the weather fines up after winter.

Very casual friendly group of people, no internal politics except for the Get love-mud outta there action group - a grass roots movement united in their hate for pink shirts and yellow hair slowly growing in numbers :D

We are always looking for new members who will be active and join in the fun

Do it.... you know you want to :)

Went on my first trip with the club last weekend and had a ball, as has been mentioned a fairly casual club with a lot of helpful members.....less politics, more fun.

Paid up, and with a vehicle that is now at least half way capable. Just took a bit longer to get there than I had anticipated. Basically a decent bunch, just dont let those Lux's slow down the procedings too much on trips. :finger:

2.5" in the springs, and an extra 2" courtesy of the tyres. Contemplating the need for a body lift ATM.

we needed to get you a lux buddy or you'll be constantly saying my hilux broke this, my hilux got bogged here, my hilux got towed by a Zuk there. It means you two can sit in the back and pretend you don't want Zuks :D

This is the softest excuse ever Tonka... Why don't you just come out and admit that you've got a manicure and perm booked in for that night :?
