Hurricane extractors will NOT fit LHD Ferozas!

Post by murcod »

As the subject says, I've just received info that the Aussie made Hurricane extractors will not fit on a left hand drive Feroza/ US Rocky due to the steering column hitting them......

Just some info for anyone overseas contemplating buying them. ;)

They might need cutting at a certain point, then weld on addition pipes bent in the right mannor, then shorten the left over piece and weld back togetherome... But you'd have to allow enough space for engine movement, etc... Should be do able.. but def gunna take abit of custom work..

Have you got a photo of them sitting in place, to give a visual idea of how much space the steering is taking up. As i have no idea if it's 1 pipe, or all 4 pipes..

Altertatively... Relocate to Australia and you'll have no probs moding your new Aus delivered Feroza ;)

hehehehehehe

Probably the best way would be to cut the section out of the two pipes and get an exhaust shop to bend some more pipe to go in the gap left so that it clears the steering column. The length of the pipes is fairly crucial to the function of the extractors- so it's important to try and keep the lengths the same.
