MQ body lift kit?

does anyone know who makes an MQ body lift kit?

well i got blocks cut at capral aluminium, but don't go there as they do a job of em. i suggest getting the nylon blocks,any plastic place will do em. they don't make so many noise's and i'm replaceing my blocks to nylon soon. when u do it the rear to body mounts are accessed via cutting the floor.

Why?

If you have them same length/torque and rubbers btw them are still good there is no reason why they should make a noise, sure check them after the first 500kms after fitting them, however if the job is done properly with nylock nuts and washes there will be no dramas.

I prefer steel anyway as you can put a fair amount of pressure on there, whereas any plastic compund will just compress over time resulting in you needing to tighten them regually.

i had an incident with a tree, some of the mounts are not the best anymore. and not all plastics compress i plan on changin my lift over from the 2" to a 3" soon, will put support plates either side of floor and going to put plates either side of floor for extra support, wil be using polyurethane blocks. will post pics etc then

I prefer steel ones also, sure they will corode oever time but are strong as houses.

Or u can buy a bigas chopping board from Big W and hole saw drill it out into heaps of peices and then stack em to the right hieght!!
Costs about $7.

I just learned this!! Chopping board is about 8 mm thick and is the same stuff as body blocks for only $40 a board. So just use that.

Not a bad idea hey. Had anyone else tried this?

i havnt personally tried it, but 2 ppl i know have and they are more than happy with it, sure it doesnt quite look at pretty but it is more then enough to do the job. I know there engineer wasnt that impressed but said it was OK.

i originally used the mounts off the middle of the gq and spaced the rest with huge washers, then when i got the blocks drill eventually (like 6months!) i swapped em over

when you do a 2 inch body lift on a MQ do u have to change the shockies coz the ones on mine look pretty old and standard. i did a search but couldn't find anything about shockies

all a body lift does is raise the body off the chassis. As the shocks mount to the diffs and the chassis a body lift does not affect them. the should be plenty of information on the forums about shocks. My opinion, OME's (from ARB) are great value for money.

Also if you want a Body Lift kit, Sandy at Aus4wd does them. With Nylon blocks, high tensile bolts, nuts, washers etc. Send a PM to aus4wd for a price.

Dont be scared MQ080, trust the abused, my so called plastic ones (which are bl**dy hard) have not needed tensioning in three years, so no SQUISH is apparent, also cheap as, an easy to cut (with power hacksaw 8 ).
My rear bolts came strait out , and it was a STOCKTON BEACH THRASHER, and no they didnt fall out.....but be carefull with the front steering adjustment, i raised mine 2.5 inches and very carfully adjusted both the upper and lower splines equally and i would not go further than the amount i have now..mark the splines with a black marker so u know how fars ya takin the risk too..
