Twin LPG tanks on a GQ?

G'day,
I've noticed that some Disco's and various Ford F series can carry twin LPG tanks. Is such a thing possible on a GQ Patrol (93 Mav') to help rectify its shite range? Has anyone ever attempted this, or do they simply not fit anywhere.

I used to have a 120L tank under the rear and another 120L in the back of my SWB, I used to get plenty of Kays out of it. :D

is it legal to have a gas tank in the cabin? cause a second tank on a shorty won't fit anywhere else that i can think of..... unless you could fit some small tanks in under where the dual fuel petrol tank normally sits.

the tank has to have a sealed valve cover box, and connections have to be in conduit till they get to outside the vehicle.

Most gas conversions or duel fuel systems have a the gas tank inside. Just cos it is in the boot makes no difference (if anything makes them go bang better in a fire - very rare though) as the boot in pretty much all vehicles (including sedans) the only divider is the rear seat.

As for the patrol, there is room behind the 2nd row seats for a gas tank. Or you could use a similar systam as what they use in Rangies and Discos by using a couple of small gas tanks on the floor, with a flase floor above them.
This way you could still use the AUX tank under the car.

3 of the 4 rigs sitting in the yard at the moment have twin LPG tank setup on em.... 2 are MQ's and the 3rd is a troopy. Yeah I know they arent the same underneath as the GU GQ but all of them run 2 tanks underneath the floorpan so it more than possiable to do.

i have twin lpg taks in my 91 mav swb.. runs on lpg only. i have 100l tank underneath the car between chassis rail where the original fual tank goes and a 120l in the back behind the back seats.. the total usable litres i can fill is about 190 due to afl's. this gets me about 600kms around town down to about 450 when in the ruff stuff.. i have an auto tb42 with 33mtrs with standard ratios and a 5 inch lift... awsum set up.. i have a switch between the tanks and use seperate fillers so i can save on the weight when running around town.. its an awsum set up.. just wish the front flexed more.....

On the subject of fuel, how many litres is the standard fuel tank ina 1993 Nissan GQ LWB 3.0l petrol?
The new Haynes manual sucks and doesn't tell you much at all and I do not possess the Owners manual.

95ltrs, i believe
get the gregorys manual. much, much nicer.
