Disc brakes for fj40

Post by Raymond Spackman »

Will swivel hubs off fj60 fit onto a 72 fj40 front housing? I have disc & calipers already. OR do i need a later model housing. I also have 80 model axels there if I need them.. Any help with sorting out what I need would be greatly apreciated. Thanks

brakes

mate im not sure but you might run into trouble with your axels.

are yours coarse or fine spliners etc? I got in all sorts because my diff centre was from horse and cart days. meant almost a whole new front end...

if i could warp back to last NOV i would buy 60 series diffs and swap them under my 40, instead of spending a fortune stuffing around with dodgy disc brakes i bought 2nd hand which were duds.

The 72 front housing will work with the swivel hubs off a 60 series. You have to grind the housing a little to fit the cv joint. Use the inner axles from the 40, they should fit into the 60 cv's.
