Tuff zook, as you have only made 3 posts, can I offer you some friendly advise.
Starting a topic like this, when http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... php?t=7254 has been running for 8 months and is still active, sounds a lot like "vendor bashing", if you have issues with a broken rockhopper speak to Liam, I have found him to be a reasonable guy who trully cares about his reputation in this industry.

We all have a morbid desire to hear about other guys blowing up stuff, and in 25 years of 4 wheel driving, in many cars I think I may hold some records in that department, (over 10 engines, 4 gearboxes, at least 10 diffs, and 4 or 5 transfer cases) when I look back at all the damage I have done (hey, "DAMAGE" that would make a great number plate  ) 90% of it was due to my own stupid fault, and the other 10% was bad tradesmen working on my car, but as I chose those bad tradesmen, part of the blame rests with me.
One of the great things a board like this can do is alert the 4x4 masses about a shonky workshop or a dodgey product or even a good workshop with a great product that gives crappy service, but we must be very carefull when posting negative comments because reputations can be harmed very easely on the internet, and is a good way to get people offside, and your thread locked by the moderator.
Peter.

Droopy pete , listen im not putting shit on the rockhopper i was just wondering is anyone has broken a series 3 before, where it was from manufacturers fault, or the tradesman who put it in. I know people who have rockhoppers and havent had any problems with them, but i was just asking a question if anyone has had one break?

Thats what this forum is for isnt it, to ask questions from people who have had experience with these products. So why get up me when i was just asking for some advice from people who have had experience with the product.

because it is coming across as a sneaky way of dishing out dirt. We all know your Rockhopper broke. Move on. If you had done a search of this board you would see that there were no mentions of Series 3s breaking but the widely acknowledged series 1 early run ones.

i disagree , it seems like a perfectly normal question to ask if he is thinking of buying one , he hasn't said he's got em and their stuffed etc , just getting info before shelling out the cash possibly , and if he has got em and they are shagged than whats the harm in asking a question ? if the product is good as i believe it would be than it will stand on its own merits ,i dont see it as parts bashing more as consumer infomation if no one else has broken any than the thread will fade out , no need to stress out over it and as for the other thread it seems to be the thread dishing out the dirt (but again its consumer info ) but i guess we all see things from different angles .

maybe you fellas know more about something going on behind the scenes , if so fair enough , but if not don't always take what people say in such a negative light !
if its worth doing do it intensly , better still do it with MADPASSION

I can't see a problem with the original question .
If he does have a set of gears that have failed then I guess he has the right to know if anyone else has had them fail.
If he then startes critisizing a vendor then I would lock and delete the offending posts.

It is also being asked and addressed in another thread. There is more to the story than this single question in this thread

I see tuffzuk has been deleted, and James Hird copped a $20k fine.

I read a little article the other day that said that in China there have been crackdowns on illegal internet cafes so that the autorities could have greater control upon what people can access on the internet.

The thing I found strange about tufzook's thread was the fact that he did origionaly post on the "ever seen a rockhopper fail" thread on Thursday the 6th of May at 7:35pm, and as no one had replied by lunch time the next day, he starts up his own thread to talk about the same stuff as the first thread :?
It didn't make any sense to me untill the clarifying post from Liam, ie leaking oil, muddy water, cracked case, ect, ect.

If he wasn't out to "point the bone" he would have stayed with the origional thread, instead of trying for the "damage multiplication factor" that comes from more threads, I stand by my reply to tuffzook.

I deleted Tuffzook and also Joe Jones as these were actually one in the same person. When the first posts from Tuffzook were posted i already had some info from another member of this board that had asked my permission to bring this subject up. I ok'ed it as long as no vendor names were mentioned or bashed. He was handeling it ok untill he decided to register another user name to try and bait some users into answering what he wanted to hear. So both user names have been deleted.
