I pulled mine apart a few weeks ago trying to fix mine (go straight to the floor the first time I push them, work on the second go). I just pulled one apart at a time because I could see how everything went back together again didn't have a manual to go off, and no mine still aren't fixed yet handbrake doesn't work either got to love 20 yr old Hiluxes

shitty brakes

Post by Doggy »

I used to have to pump mine to get em to stop sometimes and other times they'd go straight to the floor...fun times...so fun. the main problemo was the little coggy windy outy thingy that winds the brakes shoes out towards the drum. The teeth were rooted on them so when i wound them out to tighten the brakes it would go slack again after a couple of weeks...so after a while i just gave up and didnt have a hand brake
