Can you do an auto box behind the 5 or 7M motor and still hook up a gear driven T/case ??

The A340 bolts up to the 5m or 7M but you'll need to contact BJ to sort out the gear driven xfer case

I am fitting a 1ggze to my 84 lux atm.

Give me one week and I'll answer... Engine goes in over next couple of days.

it will bolt up as long as the gearbox is the g52 or has the same stud pattern for the removable bellhousing.

My 84 extra cab lux has the same 5mge engine in it at the moment. Problem is that the aus spec 86+ cressida's came out with a ecu that controls not only the fuel but the ignition timing aswell. so the loom is a lot more complicated than the one stated on suprasurf's 5mge conversion website. a benefit of this is more power tho so im not worried.

It should be up and running in no time, all that's needed is an exhaust.

Just Wondering

Post by Sleepy »

Just wondering are the supra 5m ge and the cressida 5m ge the same ie any power difference.

I know there all autos pretty much but there a lot easier and cheaper to get than a supra now days

Any idea

australian spec supras never came out with the 5mge. the cressida's that are in australia should have the same if not more power than the older supra's. They should be more economical too.

They are all auto's but you can source a flywheel and clutch/bellhousing setup of a 4m

A useful site for APPROXIMATE engine power is here:
