CAN HILUX G'BOX FIT BHIND ROCKY MOTOR WIF CUSTOM BELLHOUSING

if a commoder motor was dropped into truck,
would a commodore gearbox be easier to match to the engine
than the existing g'box?

i no its a dodgy question but hey...I.D.G.A.R.A.
but an answer would be nice

of course it would, but try matching the gbox to a t/case and you might find it is a bit more difficult

In your case yes. But you could also try chasin down some hilux v6 conversion gearboxes from unfinished projects as they already have transfer case attached.

Otherwise chase down imports as some trucks ran geraboxes simliar to commodores with transfer cases.

i need the gearbox to match the motor and the tranny
is this half rite ?

The gearbox is what sits behind the motor spaced by a bellhousing. Unless you're talkin about a CUSTOM BELLHOUSING?? that what you're referring to??

I have no idea. But why not edit your post TOPIC to - CAN A HILUX GEARBOX FIT BEHIIND A ROCKY MOTOR WITH A CUSTOM BELLHOUSING??

more catchy and you'd prolly get a response. If its been done before (i dont know if it has... and you'd prolly best off calling dellows automotive - they do custom bellhousings. - If it hasnt been done b4.. then you're lookin at something thats impossible, or expensive to get done.

Yep, the petrols were shared across the models, Rocky and Hilux.

I think the diesels were a Daihatsu item, not a toy product.

What motor do you have in the Rocky?

Unfortunately the transfer case output of the hilux is centred, the Rocky rear diff is offset to the right.

If you were chasing a replacement gbox and tranny case, check out daihatsu auto recyclers over at Archerfield, they will have them in stock on exchange - PH 3875 2555

yeah in the june/july holidays it'll all happen in one go.

lift, shox..... and im driving too so ill go see that Daihatsu
specialist.

alot of people think that the motors and the boxes are the same, yes they are easy interchanged as conversions but not with one another.
