I'll buy a toyota... only if you buy my Montero. Hmm... So probably NOT.

I made some calls regarding the rancho shock listed in the above post. From the people I've talked it... they all say it is an eye to eye type shock. You posted stating that it would work w/ the current stock setup. Do you have other information?

The information I was requesting was how to convert the stud tower to an eye tower. What are my options? (excluding the $45ea converter online)

I need to know this information so I can finalize the order.
I'm sorry do not know much about this vehicle. But I'm trying... That is much better than 90% of the other Montero Owners. And your help and patience is very appreciated. Thanx.

ok monty, to end this now please read the following. YOU NEED RS99138 RANCHO 9000X SERIES SHOCKS, S42 TOP MOUNT AND LS26 BOTTOM MOUNT WHICH CONVERTS TO THE LS82 WHICH WILL FIT PERFECTLY. THIS INFORMATION IS TAKEN FROM THE RANCHO WEBSITE FOUND HERE -> http://www.gorancho.com/documents/RS900 ... charts.pdf If the suppliers tell you otherwise then they have just as much idea as you. You can also find the mount details here -> http://www.gorancho.com/documents/specifications_1.pdf

RR
What about screwing a rose or heim joint straight on to the existing shock pin.Is this legal in Aus.It would give you more length and less bind as the shock goes thru it's arc.

D'oh meant to post it in here instead of the other thread

Does anyone know anything about the new Tough Dog 9 Stage Adjustables ? Are they suitable in lengths etc for what we want ? Or are Ranchos still the way to go ?

Yeah from what I've been told they are just the old 53mm bore Foam Cells but are now 9 way adjustable so the range should be as it was.
But they are about $250 a shock

Are there any front shocks that are to "short" once the top and bottom bump stops are cut down.

Hello guys there is some decent shocks you could consider.
Oztec shocks lifetime warrantee made by Cofap. Same manufacturer as TJM shocks. Extended length for Pajero is 595mm. You can get a comfort shock or a cargo shock. $450 delivered. Normally $600.

My Tough dogs where to short, with standard bump stops. Ended up mashing the shocks bushes.
