BJ40 radiator probs
gday all, a mate of mine had 2 Bj40 diesels and the radiator bracket keeps breaking resulting in damage to the radiator on both of them. has had it fixed a couple of times but it just breaks again. apparently its a common problem soo does anybody have a pic of how they have fixed it? ie bracing the bracket or wat ever. cheers
Is this the top one it is about 100mm long.
What I did after replacing so many of them, was first of all check the bottom mounts as mine were cracked all over the place. I cut small plates a welded them over the cracks. The second thing i did was I fitted a rubber washer in between the small bracket and the body, to allow it to move rather than break. Before I fixed the bottom mounts nothing would stop the short bracket breaking I even tried welding in gussets.
Cheers Dazz
