4 door would be considered a LWB MQ in Australia I believe but correct me if I am wrong Aussie's!

What is the motor in it?? It should have a 4spd regardless due to it's year. Transfer should be the same from 1980-1987, I think. Diffs will be C200's front and rear or C200 front and H233 in rear. These are about a Dana44 in comparison to size. Very rare chance you have a H260 rear diff and it is a touch larger than a Dana60.

Parts?? Well, ovbviously they will have to come from overseas as there is nothing for them in the USA or Alaska. Australia is a good place for parts and so is New Zealand, so is S.America. There is a guy in Canada who can get you parts for it but I lost his info as he was to high priced and I never bought from him....

I have an 83 SWB MQ...so welcome to the club of super rare USA Nissan Patrols. Your's and mine are maybe 2 of 12 in the whole US of A.

It sounds like it has the L28 2.8Litre engine, F4W81A 4 speed gearbox and T100L transfer case. It will be the L28 engine if it has the dizzy on the front left of the motor coming out of the timing case on an angle right behind the fan.

i just looked at the rear diff and it is totaly diferant from the front.the rear diff has the center section going in from the front like a toy or ford 9 inch rear end and has no rear cover on it but the front has a stamped sheet metal cover on the front with the center section cast as one piece like a dana 44 but smaller.the dist comes out the left side of the head and the engine looks like one from a 240-280 z car and has points in it.how strong is the t-case?will it live with a 300 hp v8 in front of it?thanks for all the info on this thing.when i get home i will try and post pics of it.

hey...awesome price on that bad boy!! Good project for sure if the body is not toasted from rot. Really kick butt man, wish I had scored it! Mine is in worse shape mechaniclly and I paid $1500. It is a SWB SD33 though and I like the SWB and removable h/t more.

The P40 has a distro on the LHS down low in front of and slightly above the fuel pump. It is hard to tell by your picture, small in size and not good over head of the motor. If it is a P40 it should say on the RHS on the block P40 "numbers". It is likely a L28 which is the smallest of the inline-sixes put in a MQ P-troll. I also think the divorced transfer means L28 motor. My SD33 and 4spd does not have a divorced transfer and neither does my P40 4spd in a LG61. Also sounds to me like you have a H260 rear diff. It is pretty damn strong from what I understand but have not used one myself.

I am a bit of a noviced at the MQ/MK's and I am sure some of these other guys here can fully identify your truck. Did you check the badges on the RHS firewall??

That motor is the L28. Same family as the engines in the 240z and 260z.
Sounds like you have the C200 front axle and H233 rear axle.

RMP&O, no shortys ever came out with a divorced t/case.

Pictures aren't working and I can't remember from when I looked at them.

Basically round headlights are MQ and square headlights are MK.
