I don't think ARB has ever had a sierra snorkel.
Airflow is the brand that does have them (as per the other posts).
Just punch the air inlet hose through the firewall - that's a cheaper alternative to a snorkel.

I have to agree with this, its about $300 cheaper and you get to run a bling pod filter. My filter rarely gets dirty.

Once again for those that have the Zuk as more than an offroad toy the air filter in the cab\dash is stoopid .. Unless you want to be XTREME and park on each others cars ..
I got an airflow ages ago from GRP was around 300 from memory and pretty easy to fit as well .. Safari dont mke one for the Sierra, but have em for vitara's .. WTF ??
Or do as Grimbo suggested and get an exhaust place to make one up .. You should be able to get it done for $100.

Yes an external snorkel is more Ideal for the softer core (and Toyota) drivers.

I have a feeling that cutting a huge hole in your firewall won't go down to well with Vicroads or your insurance company.
Putting an air intake in the cab is not the most efficient place to put one. it is noisy, it doesn't raise the air intake, what happens if you get bogged in a waist deep boghole or river (been there done that) it will still suck in the water and muck.
If you are worried about spending $300 on a airflow or who ever they are snorkel get the exhaust shop to bend one up. If you are using your car for any sort of daily driving duties, if you drive in mud or do river crossings I'd say go with a snorkle and not a hole in the firewall

I suspect that if your car is reguarly going to be in mud / water that is high enough to justify having a snorkel - then it is probably not going to be a slick daily driver anymore.
Horses for courses though.
My pod is still in the engine bay, I know where it is and i just avoid going through puddles that are that deep. Problem solved.

The reason I say it's stoopid (notice I say for vehicles other than trail toys) is that it makes alot of noise inside an already noisy enviromnet. I used to be in my Zuk up to 3 hours 5 days a week when it was a daily driver .. The external snorkle was silent as fas as I was concerned, After a couple of day the induction noise would have driven me insane ..
Also I have seen several vehicles pics posted in the Suzuki section alone with rather wet interiours a couple that spring to mind are Suzuki Viagra, a Blue coiler with a 1 litre body on it, On either of these vehicles had been running a filter in the dash style snokle would have been no help at all, this is more prevelat for those those running with no doors as the water will be in the cabin VERY quickly. So a "normal" snorkle suddenly becomes a very efficetive mod V's a hydo-locked motor.

I used my Zuk as a daily driver that was also regularly used in deep bogholes and deep water crossings (back when it was yellow on 7.00 SATS) it saved my engine on quite a few occasions.
As to having just a pod in an open engine bay you're asking for trouble. Doesn't need to be deep all it needs is a decent splash and it will suck it in, best case it fill clog and foul the pod worst case $$$. i still maintain if you are doing any sort of driving involving mud or water a $300 snorkel is a worthwhile investment

No need to add to the distrations by have induction noise to contend with as well, IMHO also I dont nessecairly agree that it would make a bad daily driver .. I racked up over 80,000 Km's in mine on 32's and bigger .. apart from being thirsty it was not hard or tireing to drive in that state ..

here's the ruling:
If you have stereo in the car, you must have a snorkel.
If there is no stereo and no doors, you must have a snorkel.
If there is no stereo, but you have doors, you can punch the air inlet through the firewall.
Please note that we are all very sad to be arguing about the merrits of a snorkel - this discussion should really be in the nissan / toyota forums. Time to start a new thread about carpet in softtops i think.

I got a nissan GU snorkle for my yota but the yota is a hardtop but has no carpet .. what do I do now ??
