Anyone know whatever happened to the power window kits that Jaycar used to sell? Wouldn't mind putting a pair in my new project (81 Range Rover).
Similarly, anyone ever played with electric door releases? I notice Jaycar sells the little solenoids, primarily intended for boot releases, but I figure one could be rigged up to replace the door handles.
If you don't see what I'm getting at, I'm not at all enamoured with the standard door trims ...

imo the aftermarket power windows kits are crap they dont last long i installed a set in my brothers gemini about 2 years ago and there now dead wont wind down wont wind up so there being removed and the winders put back on
you can get electronic door releases from usa but there $$$ look for door poppers you gotta both unlock the door then push the door open and on a 4x4 with a heavy door thats gonna need some decent power
ive been tempted to do both these on my cortina but cant afford the $$$ to do em properly i was planing on modding a set of factory power windows outta a falcon to fit inside the cortinas doors but lost intrest in the project
best of luck

Whatcha want is stock electric windows from a wrecker, if there are any that fit your car (there'd have to be for a rangie wouldn't there?)
The aftermarket ones will suck.
If you hate the door trims that's okay, you can set the switches up in some different way.
Forget getting rid of the door handles. It's too hard.
