The GQ is shaking like crazy and when I took it to the garage the guy said that I have no more bushings on the diffs, arms, suspension and everything. Since it is not my daily driver I was ignoring the shaking until it turned in to a massage parlor on wheels.
So since I am changing them do you suggest I get something else beside the factory bushings?
The factory Bushes may cost a bit more. But they do seem to last longer than the aftermarket polyurathane ones. Also the Fact rubber bushes seem to allow better wheel travel (toyota 80series front radius arm bushes are the same size and work well in patrols).
I was told that the poly bushes are very good for off road use as they keep the suspension tighter. However they are a lot harder so all the road noise gets transferred to your fillings.
For the panhard rods I will probably go for an aftermarket bush like the yellow ones ARB sell. For the radius arms I have got 2nd hand 80series bushes in and they are working well.
For the rest of the susp links they will most likly stay factory bushes until something better comes along.
for the panhard bushes i would go the superpro ones as they are easy to replace but for the radius arms i would try the 80 series bushes firstly or the nissan bushes secondly....much better flex and the rubber bushes last heaps longer.
for the trailing arms i would go the nissan rubber bushes all round unless you have more than 6" of lift and huge travel as the steel will rip out of the rubber.
i used poly bushes in mine as they can spin round as the trailing arm drops down but they don't twist side to side anywhere near as well.
i have just put nissan bushes in the chassis end of the lower trailing arms and johnny joints in the diff end and am just about to do a cape york trip [in a couple of weeks] so that should really test them out
