Working on the theory that it may be cheaper to get more than one, or to ship more than one etc... how long til you need an answer?
I've got some more thinking and investigating to do first.
I will call them today Greg, and I will not even ask for a group discount
$800 for efi 1600 1/2 cut with auto, transfer and both diffs,
sheesh what a tight arse
I will see how many (if any) I can get.
Peter.

They were in this month's 4x4 trader (the one with the red bronco on the cover) the ad was up the back and small, they were from Ichibahn and they were $895, they had 2 and they are both sold, and at that price I wonder if they ever had any to start with, and were maybe just testing the waters.

Sorry moose, the reason i have mentioned them was because other people do want them - as per the above posts from other people.
I don't want them - that's why i'm still looking for one.
Sorry for the confusion!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. Import, not Miport

Greg, before you discount imports entirely have a chat with the Engineer. You may find that if it has a local ECM fitted when you are getting it engineered that may be enough for the emission issue. Just borrow one for the check or get one from a wrecker. This was mentioned to me some time ago when I was talking to one about engine swaps.

Thanks for the tip CJ, but apparently the Vitara Computers are the same for Local and Imported cars. The difference seems to be in the head and fuel injection bits and pieces. I seem to recall hearing that the "throttle body" or something like that differs.
If you already have a vitara EFI (local) and you put another Vitara EFI (import), then i expect that no engineering cert will be required*. However, import Vitara EFI motor into a Sierra = cert req, equals trouble with emissions.
* - don't hold me to that though - speak to an engineer.

Woulda thought a Vitara EFI would be cleaner for emissions than a Sierra so it shouldn't be an issue. your only prob would be the Unleaded filler.
but dont hold me to that either.
