'A' FRAME TRAILER

Post by -Mandy- »

Just wanting to know what people think of them,I will be using one to tow the zuk in a couple of weeks to an event as the owner of the trailer I was borrowing doesn't want to lend it anymore. :x
Is there any advice I should know?

Thanks

In vic, the towing car must be 3 times the weight of the towed car for it to be legal.

not sure about other states though.

You expect me to think that far ahead??
The locker could cause a problem, then again,it may not. :?
The towing car is heavier.

I'd still check the legality of it as i think you will get pinged if the towing car isn't considerably bigger. basically it will need to be a truck or bus for it to be legal. you won't get away with it being a GQ Patrol as i have checked and it isn't possible

As far as legalities in qld goes, though not sure if they have changed in the last couple of years, if you use an A-frame, then the towee vehicle becomes a trailer & is then bound by the same rules as trailers of similar weight eg over ride brakes or such. If there is someone in the car to operate the brakes then it is legal. Chad used to A-frame his suzi alot & never got pulled over for it. Probably because suzis are considered little 4x4s & are usually towed by much bigger 4x4s.

But check with qld transport for more up to date regulations.
If we can put one man on the moon, why can't we put them all there!!
